Harold and I shared 62 years together, and I believed I understood every part of the man I married.

Her sons stood near her throughout the service, offering quiet support. Rosa leaned on their arms as guests moved slowly through the ceremony.

Friends, relatives, and longtime neighbors filled the pews. Many had known the couple for years and shared in the loss.

By the time the service ended, Rosa felt emotionally exhausted. She had managed to remain composed, but the strain of the day weighed heavily on her.

An Unexpected Visitor
As people began leaving the church, Rosa noticed someone unfamiliar approaching through the crowd.

The girl looked about twelve or thirteen years old. Rosa did not recognize her from the family or among the friends gathered that day.

The young visitor walked directly toward her with quiet determination.

“Are you Harold’s wife?” she asked.

“I am.”

The girl held out a plain white envelope.

“Your husband asked me to give this to you today,” she explained. “At his funeral. He told me I had to wait until this exact day.”

The words caught Rosa off guard. Before she could ask any questions, the girl turned and hurried out of the church.

Her son noticed the exchange and gently touched her arm.

“Mom? Are you okay?”
