Homemade Strawberry Chia Jam
This easy homemade strawberry chia jam is sweet, fresh, and made with just a few simple ingredients. It’s perfect for toast, pancakes, yogurt, or desserts. Best of all, it takes only about 15 minutes to make!
Ingredients
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Place the chopped strawberries in a small saucepan over medium heat.
- Cook for about 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries soften and release their juices.
- Use a fork or potato masher to mash the strawberries to your desired consistency.
- Stir in the chia seeds, honey, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
- Continue cooking for another 2–3 minutes while stirring.
- Remove from heat and let the jam cool for about 10 minutes. It will thicken as it cools.
- Transfer to a jar and store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
