Ingredients
1 (16 oz) family size package Nutter Butter cookies
4-5 ripe but firm bananas
2 (3.4 oz) boxes Jell-O Banana Cream Instant Pudding & Pie Filling
4 cups cold milk (for pudding)
1 (8 oz) container Cool Whip Original Whipped Topping, thawed
1/2 cup Jif Creamy Peanut Butter
2 tablespoons milk (for thinning peanut butter, optional)
Additional Nutter Butter cookies, for garnish (optional)
Additional banana slices, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Nutter Butter Cookies: Open the family size package of Nutter Butter cookies. Place about two-thirds of the cookies into a large zip-top bag and crush them into coarse crumbs using a rolling pin or the bottom of a heavy glass. You want a mix of fine crumbs and small chunks for texture. Set aside the remaining cookies for layering and garnish.
Slice the Bananas: Peel the 4-5 ripe bananas. Using a sharp knife, slice them into approximately 1/4 to 1/2-inch thick rounds. For best results and to prevent browning, slice the bananas just before you are ready to assemble the trifle.
Prepare the Instant Pudding: In a large mixing bowl, combine the contents of both Jell-O Banana Cream Instant Pudding & Pie Filling boxes with 4 cups of cold milk. Whisk vigorously for 2 minutes until the mixture is well combined and slightly thickened. Let it sit for 5 minutes to fully set.
