We have not brought it up either. There is nothing left to say.

What happened that morning was not something we planned or engineered. We did not set a trap. We did not scheme or retaliate or try to teach anyone a lesson. We simply knew our rights, stayed calm when it mattered, and let the situation resolve itself through the natural consequence of her own actions.

That is really the whole story.

Some people move through the world believing that confidence is the same thing as being correct. They speak with authority on things they have not fully researched. They push forward on assumptions without checking whether those assumptions are actually grounded in fact. And for a while, that approach can work, because many people back down simply to avoid conflict.

But every now and then, the person on the receiving end of that kind of pressure happens to know exactly where they stand.

And when that happens, all the confidence in the world cannot change what the rules actually say.

Our cars have been parked in front of our house every single day since then.
