Mouse tail, scientifically known as Achillea millefolium, is a perennial herb easily recognizable by its fine, highly divided leaves and small white or pink flowers clustered in inflorescences. It grows on meadows, roadsides, fields and sunny places, being found in many regions.
Although some view it as a common herb, mouse tail has a long history in folk medicine. It has traditionally been used for digestion, small superficial wounds and mild menstrual discomfort. The European Medicines Agency mentions the traditional use of the plant for temporary lack of appetite, mild digestive problems, superficial wounds and minor menstrual spasms.
However, it is important to remember that this plant should not be presented as a treatment for serious diseases and does not replace the doctor’s recommendations.
