Shape the Loaves:
- Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down to release the air bubbles. Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a loaf.
- Place the loaves in greased 9×5-inch loaf pans. Cover the pans loosely with greased plastic wrap and let the dough rise for another 30 to 45 minutes, or until it rises just above the rim of the pans.
- Bake the Bread:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while the dough is rising.
- Once the dough has risen, remove the plastic wrap and bake the loaves in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown and the loaves sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Remove the bread from the oven and immediately transfer the loaves to wire racks to cool completely.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Once the bread has cooled, slice it and serve it with butter or your favorite spread. Enjoy the homemade goodness of Amish white bread!
