And at that moment, I couldn’t stop myself anymore.
I pushed the door open.
Both of them were startled.
—Liza?!
I walked toward him, trembling.
—Why didn’t you tell me?
His eyes widened.
—You heard?
I nodded.
Tears streamed down my face.
—I thought… I thought…
I couldn’t finish the sentence.
He stepped closer to me.
—I didn’t want you to be afraid — he said softly.
—I was more afraid because I didn’t know.
The room was silent.

—You don’t have to do this alone.
He let out a soft laugh.

he laughed.
—Do you remember the day you secretly came home?
I smiled.
—Yes.
—I thought you were going to catch me in the middle of my plan.
—I did catch you.
He laughed.
I held his hand.
—And I will never let you face anything alone again.
For the first time in a very long time, the world felt quiet again.
Not because there were no problems.
But because we were facing them together.
