Travis exploded forward before anyone could stop him.
His right fist shot toward my face with everything he had.
Several neighbors screamed.
Sophie covered her mouth.
Grant smiled, convinced the fight was finally over.
I stayed exactly where I was.
The punch came fast.
It was also exactly where I expected it to be.
I turned my head just enough for his fist to cut through empty air.
The momentum carried him past my shoulder.
His eyes widened.
He had expected panic.
Instead, he found empty space.
Before he could recover, I placed one open hand lightly against his forearm.
I didn’t strike.
I didn’t shove.
I simply redirected the force he had already created.
His own weight pulled him off balance.
He stumbled three quick steps before barely catching himself.
The entire street fell silent.
Grant’s smile disappeared.
Natalie stared without blinking.
One of the fighters behind Travis slowly lowered his hands.
“No way,” he whispered.
Another man beside him frowned.
“That wasn’t luck.”
Travis spun around, breathing much harder now.
His face had turned bright red.
“You moved!” he shouted.
“I thought you wanted to fight!”
“I moved because you attacked,” I answered calmly.
“You still have the choice to stop.”
He laughed, but the confidence was gone.
“You think one lucky dodge means something?”
