His jaw tightened. “What kind?”
“Board minutes. Tax filings. Capital contribution records. Early loan guarantees. Emails. Payroll history.”
Adrian stepped closer. “You kept all of that?”
“I kept everything.”
Paige looked at him again. This time there was no softness in her face.
“You told me she had no involvement,” she said.
Adrian snapped, “Not now.”
The words were quiet, but their effect was immediate. Paige stepped back as though the hallway beneath her had shifted.
The boys were with a court officer near the window. Samuel pretended not to watch us. Owen did not pretend. He stared at his father with an open confusion that made my heart ache.
I crossed the corridor and knelt in front of them.
