I held them close, burying my face against their shoulders as tears finally fell freely. I had spent nearly two decades worrying if I was enough for them, if my single-handed efforts were sufficient to heal the void left in their lives. But as we stood together on that stage, surrounded by applause, I knew the answer. We didn’t need anything else.
